Vepsu and Pulteris

On the islands of Vepsu, Pulteri, Luntti-Pulteri, Vasikka-Pulteri, Vuori-Pulteri and Tervakari owned by Pyötsaari’s landshareholders a 58 hectare nature reserve has been established by the decision of South-Eastern regional office of the Ministry of Environment.
Vepsu and the Pulteri’s private protected landownership area is governed by Pyötsaari’s landshareholders and the water area by Pyötsaari’s fishery. Hunting group Saukkovuoren Erä is also active on the area.
Pyötsaari’s landshare ownership has also zoned building areas at the northern tip of Pulteri and at Vepsus collar. On these areas volunteer workers have built laplander’s huts, woodsheds, toilets and jettys. The buildings in the area are rented by Pyötsaari’s landshare ownership council.
Vuori- Pulteri has been planned as VR- area. The islands hut with its kitchen facilities, woodshed and a light jetty for smaller boats have been built as a joint project by the South-Eastern Environment office and Pyötsaaris landshare ownership council. The buildings on the island are available free of charge to all the hikers.
